Tomorrow's Quilts & Customers Support Waco Humane Society
Bring in your old quilting magazines and books. We resell them and the money goes to the Waco Humane Society. What a great way to go "green" and help the animals.
Our May-June donation was $235. Thanks to all who bought magazines and all those who brought in magazines.
We are low on magazines at this time and if you have any quilting and sewing related magazines, we could use them. We thank you.
Our 5 th Birthday
October 4, we will celebrate 5 years in business. We thank everyone who has made it happen for us. Thank you very much.
We will celebrate by having everyone who wants to, make a signature cupcake block to be made into a quilt to hang in the shop. Starting September 1, a block kit and pattern will be available for purchase at $2 each. (One per person, we will only have a limited number of kits available) Make and sign your block and return it for a $5 gift certificate toward purchase in the shop. The finished block should be turned in by September 19. We will have a cupcake party on October 4 and show off our new quilt.
We hope you will want to be a part of this celebration!
Margaret Batterton of Aunty M - www.auntym.com - has digitized a machine embroidery applique design, that you may use with the kit. You may download it from this page. Machine Embroidery Cupcake applique

Waco Humane Society Fund Raiser
Tomorrow's Quilts and customers have been asked to participate in the Waco Humane Society Wine & Food Festival this year. This year's event takes place October 17.
They have asked us to make one large quilt. The tentative plan is to offer one fat quarter for a $2 donation to the Humane Society and require a nine-inch block made using this fabric and others of your choice. This challenge will start September 5 and will end September 26. We hope you will keep this fundraiser in mind come September.
P.S. Currently the Humane Society is in need of a large amount of dog food. Please call them if you can help.
Block of the Months
We have several block of the months programs to choose from. We are offering the $5 Quilt block on the first Sunday of each month starting September 6. Buy the first block for $5, watch the demo, make the block and bring it back the next month for the next block free! Gretchen will do the block demo.
Michelle will offer the Chocolate Lover's Block of the Month, starting the first Wednesday in September. Get one or two blocks a month, along with a chocolate dessert!
Rita would like to offer a Civil War era block of the month starting the first of the year. In the near future she will do an applique wool block quilt or wall hanging. In the meantime, Rita is leading the Dear Jane Quilt each month. This BOM has been going on for almost a year and there is plenty of time to get started making this quilt. It will definitely be an heirloom when completed.
The new Moda You (formerly Moda U) will start in January with a delicious block of the month quilt. There is plenty of ways to make this block program special to YOU.
Gloria is offering a Crazy Quilt block of the month starting September. I think this will be a fun one to do. Besides sewing the fabric blocks, there will be embellishing with hand embroidery stitches and embellishments, such as lace, charms and buttons.
